The connection from the rooftop to the rainwater tank can be established using either a wet system, which channels water to the tank through underground pipes, or a dry system that utilizes overhead pipes for filling the tank from above. Both the wet and dry systems are equipped with overflow outlets, allowing excess water to be managed through a connection to the stormwater drainage system during stormwater installation.
